Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival Dibrugarh - Tinsukia
On arrival with meeting and assistance at the airport/railway station. Our Ghumney representative will meet to welcome and escort you and straight drive to Tinsukia. Check-into the hotel and take some rest. The rest of the day is free to spend on your own. Tinsukia is an industrial town in Assam. It is home to the first oil refinery in India located at Digboi. You can take a walk in this peaceful city and enjoy lively greenery. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel in Tinsukia.
Day 2 : Tinsukia - Gunjan - Tinsukia
Post early morning breakfast, start your road journey to Gunjan for a green treat along the banks of Brahmaputra. After reaching, start your bird watching tour in Dibru-Saikhowa National Park through a boat ride on the Brahmaputra River that surrounds the park. During the tour, you will spot some beautiful species of birds like Sand Larks, Smokey Warbler, Jordon’s Babbler, Paddy field Warbler, Black-breasted Parrotbill Black Storks, Asian Openbills, Green Imperial Pigeons, and Stork-billed Kingfisher. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel in Tinsukia.
Day 3 : Tinsukia - Kaziranga
Today morning after breakfast, start your journey to Kaziranga National Park. On arrival, check-in at the forest resorts and take some rest. The rest of the day is at leisure. In the evening, you can go for a nature walk along the bank of the Brahmaputra. This UNESCO world heritage site is home to the one-horned rhinoceros that cover 80% population of the park. The park is also home to a variety of other fauna including tigers, and elephants. The mighty Brahmaputra benefits water bodies in the park that are inhabited by colorful local and migratory birds and dolphins. Stay overnight in the forest lodge.
Day 4 : Kaziranga National Park
Come to Kaziranga and ride on elephant’s back’, this slogan of Assam tourism invites nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts from around the world. Start the day by an elephant safari in the Kohora or central zone of the park at the early hours of the morning. This area is a mix of grass and woodland. An elephant ride in Kaziranga offers an unmatched pleasure that you cannot experience anywhere else. Spot the wild population of the park while the cool breeze of Brahmaputra accompanies you. Later, indulge in two rounds of jeep safari in the park to enjoy the beautiful nature to your heart’s content. Stay overnight in the forest lodge.
Day 5 : Kaziranga National Park
Today is scheduled for an early morning jeep safari to the Armatoli, the eastern ranges of the park which is a haven for bird watching. This is mostly woodland spotted by colorful birds. You will be able to spot some of the most exotic and endangered species of birds like Pelicans, Bengal Floricans, Crested Serpent Eagle, Palla’s Eagle, Bar Headed Geese, Grey Headed Fishing Eagle and so on. The eastern zone also includes the Shohola Tower from where you can get a glimpse of birds and animals of the park. This tower is located at the edge of the Eastern zone in the park. After the morning safari back to the resort for lunch. Post lunch at the lodge, embark on a jeep safari to explore the central and Western range of the park. The central zone is home to Kathpora Tower, Daflang Tower, and Kerasing Tower. From here you can get marvelous views of the surroundings and wildlife. The western zone is known as Baguri that extends along the Mori Diffalu river. Stay overnight stay in the forest lodge.
Day 6 : Kaziranga - Shillong
After early morning breakfast, hit the road to reach Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. It takes about 6 hours to reach Shillong from Kaziranga by road. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Shillong has charming weather throughout the year. When you walk along the misty road lined by pine trees and surrounded by blue hills, the cool breeze plays a charming melody in your ear. And you will no way but start singing ‘Life is Beautiful’. For its soft and pure beauty, Shillong is named ‘the Scotland of East’. In the evening, you can take a stroll in the local markets where good looking Khasia girls control the business. Explore the traditional products and buy handmade bamboo or wooden showpieces. You can also buy traditional garments that are quite decent and pretty. Overnight stay at the hotel in Shillong.
Day 7 : Shillong - Cherrapunjee - Shillong (60 kms)
Hit the road for an early morning journey to Cherrapunji, the second wettest place on earth. Upon reaching Shillong-Cherrapunjee, visit the popular tourist attractions such as Mawsmai Cave, Nohkalikai Fall, and Elephant Fall. You might spot some rare bird species in the nearby forest of Mawsmai cave. The adventure enthusiasts can also enjoy trekking on the living root bridges. For many, this is one of the most prominent reasons to visit Cherrapunji. Also, visit Mawsmai Falls, known as Seven Sisters Falls which is the fourth-largest waterfall in India. After the day’s excursion. Return to Shillong. Overnight stay at the hotel in Shillong.
Day 8 : Shillong
Today is scheduled for bird watching and sightseeing in Shillong. Visit the football ground near Shillong Peak in the early morning. Here you will spot bird species in abundance such as Russet Sparrows, Tawny-breasted Wren Babbler, Mountain Bulbuls, Grey Sibias, etc. Then visit Some of the popular attractions such as Wards Lake or Pollock's Lake, Shillong Peak, and the popular Shillong museum. Post lunch, you will visit old Guwahati Road, one of the best places for bird watching activity. You can spot beautiful bird species such as Chestnut-tailed Starlings, Buff-barred Warblers, Orange Bellied Leafbirds, Striated Yuhina, Silver-eared Mesias, Large Wood shrikes, Rufescent Prinias, Bar Winged Flycatcher Shrikes, Grey Sabias, etc. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 9 : Shillong - Departure Guwahati
