Health Tips
This is one of the most challenging high-altitude road journeys in the world, and physical fitness is essential. Individuals with asthma or heart conditions may experience difficulty acclimatizing to high altitudes. For your safety, it is crucial that you undergo a thorough examination by your doctor to assess your health and ability to endure the demands of high-altitude travel, including days in "no road" conditions, extreme cold, dust, and trekking to an altitude of 19,500 feet during the Parikrama.
Weather (May to August)

Daytime Temperature: 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F)

Nighttime Temperature: 0°C to -5°C (32°F to 23°F)

In the summer, temperatures are generally more moderate, but it can still get quite cold during the night, especially at higher altitudes.

Altitude Sickness
As you ascend to higher altitudes, it is common to experience symptoms of altitude sickness, such as headaches, loss of appetite, nausea, fatigue, difficulty sleeping, and breathlessness, as your body acclimates to the elevation. This adjustment period can vary in duration, typically taking a few days or longer, depending on the individual. To ensure a safer and more comfortable journey, we require all travellers to stay two nights at Mansarovar before proceeding to higher elevations. We strongly recommend staying well-hydrated, remaining calm, and refraining from physical exertion. Additionally, avoid consuming alcohol or smoking before or during the tour.
Currency
The official currency of China is the yuan, and currency exchange services are available at the Bank of China in Kerung.
Bring with you
You are encouraged to bring the following items for your journey: snacks such as chocolates, dry fruits, toffees, glucose, and namkeen. Additionally, carry a durable water bottle along with water purifying tablets, Diamox tablets, and a personal medical kit suitable for high-altitude conditions. Protective items like sunglasses (to shield your eyes from UV rays, which are particularly intense at high altitudes), sunscreen lotion, and wet tissues (ideal for wiping away dust) are also recommended. Other useful items include a clothesline or clips, a needle and thread, body spray (for refreshing boots, feet, or the toilet tent), and a toilet kit.
Clothing Tips
In Tibet, casual attire and comfortable walking shoes are essential. Be sure to pack warm clothing, as the nights and early mornings can be quite chilly. Indian pilgrims are strongly advised against wearing saris during this yatra. It is recommended to bring all necessary items such as medications, cosmetics, and personal toiletries, as these may be difficult or impossible to find along the route. A small first-aid kit is also highly recommended. Additionally, carrying a route map is beneficial to help you navigate and track your journey each day.
Need to be Carry
Recommended winter attire includes Gore-Tex material, which, although costly, offers exceptional durability and protection. Essential items include a down jacket, raincoat, or windbreaker, along with thermal underwear, jackets, warm trousers, and woollen or cotton shirts. Additional layers such as warm sweaters, woollen gloves, and a sun hat are advised. Footwear should consist of comfortable shoes, with light leather boots for snowy conditions. A woollen balaclava (often referred to as a "monkey cap") and a scarf or dust mask will help safeguard your eyes and nose from dust exposure.
Any Changes to the terms and conditions
Yeti Himalayan reserves the right to modify or amend any part of these terms and conditions at its discretion and at any time, it deems necessary.
