It is a city where commerce thrives, and shoppers find themselves indulging in an abundance of choices. Despite its contemporary dynamism, Saigon retains a rich historical legacy that stands in contrast to its dazzling urban landscape. In the afternoon, embark on a half-day city tour to explore some of the city's most iconic landmarks. DAY 02 : SAIGON FULL DAY CU CHI TUNNEL AND CITY TOUR
The morning begins with a half-day excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels, located 75 kilometers northwest of downtown Ho Chi Minh City. This extensive underground network once served as a major resistance base for Viet Cong forces during the wars against both the French and the Americans. Entirely hand-dug, the tunnels stretched over 120 kilometers, reaching as far as the Cambodian border, and formed a sophisticated labyrinth of interlinked passageways. The tunnels were equipped with meeting rooms, kitchens, wells, clinics, schools, supply depots, trenches, and emergency escape routes. Designed for guerrilla warfare, they were deep and resilient enough to withstand intense bombings and long sieges. Exploring this historical site offers a profound insight into the ingenuity and resilience of Vietnamese soldiers. After the visit, return to Ho Chi Minh City and enjoy some free time at leisure. In the afternoon, continue with a half-day city tour, beginning at the War Remnants Museum. This thought-provoking museum houses an extensive collection of wartime artifacts, including weaponry, photographs, and historical documentation on Vietnam’s struggles against the French and the Americans. The visit provides a powerful perspective on the country’s tumultuous past and its journey toward peace. The remainder of the afternoon is dedicated to shopping at Ben Thanh Market, one of Saigon’s most famous and vibrant marketplaces. Here, visitors can browse a wide selection of local handicrafts, textiles, souvenirs, and traditional Vietnamese street food. The rest of the evening is free for personal exploration or relaxation.
